Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:

  • Design review and oversight of design consultants for the following Programs/Projects: Station Fire Alarm Upgrade; UPS/Battery System Replacement; and Met-G Emergency Generator Replacement.
  • Ensure design coordination with multidisciplinary teams.
  • Secure necessary resources to ensure design package is biddable and Constructible.
  • Manage Program/Project scope, schedule, and budget.
  • Oversee construction management personnel (such as Resident Engineer), contractors, and suppliers/vendors in the areas of construction management, scheduling, procurement, document control, and other essential functions pertaining to contract execution.
  • Function as single point of contact interfacing with staff, contractors, vendors and external parties for assigned project/s
  • Perform day-to-day project management responsibilities for multiple projects in varying stages of design, procurement, or construction.
  • Participate and lead in all construction tasks including records management, change order management, contractor submittal reviews, RFI closure, progress reports; as-built documentation, and meeting agendas and minutes.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering.
  • Five years of (full-time equivalent) verifiable project management and administration experience required
  • Five years of (full-time equivalent) multidisciplinary engineering design and construction experience required
  • Prior experience in managing large electrical utility & distribution projects required
  • Prior experience in leading complex projects involving multiple disciplines and/or functions and experienced with managing the entire project lifecycle: preliminary engineering, detailed design, procurement, delivery, construction, testing, commissioning and start-up required.
  • Low, Medium and High voltage electrical distribution, transmission, lighting upgrades, fire alarm, and construction experience preferred
  • PE License in the State of California required
  • PMP certification preferred
  • Ability to work in a team environment.
