PGH Wong Engineering, Inc. is seeking a highly motivated Architect who displays a passion for design with experience in industrial, rail transit, and/or airport facilities. The successful candidate will be exposed to high profile projects with a significant opportunity for career growth and development.

PGH Wong aims to deliver innovative and compelling project designs into the public sphere. We provide a wide range of architectural and engineering design services, project/program management, and construction management services.
Our cliental includes San Francisco International Airport (SFO), San Francisco Bay Area Rapid Transit District (BART), San Francisco Municipal Transportation Agency (Muni), Sonoma-Marin Area Rail Transit District (SMART), California High-Speed Rail Authority (CHSRA), Santa Clara Valley Transportation Authority (VTA), San Francisco International Airport (SFO), San Diego Association of Governments (SANDAG), Valley Metro Rail (VMR), and the Federal Transit Administration (FTA).

Some of the responsibilities for this position include:

  • Participate in all project phases, including conceptual designs, schematic design, design development, construction documents and revisions. 
  • Perform field verifications and conduct product and material research.
  • Develop initial design concepts with the understanding of building systems, codes and sustainable requirements to align with project goals.
  • Produce graphical presentations, 3D renderings, and construction documents working in a team environment.
  • Prepare and coordinate the development of drawings and specifications. 


  • Master of Bachelor's degree in Architecture from accredited college or university.
  • 3-5 years of previous experience working in an architectural firm is required. Experience in industrial buildings (Type II Steel Construction), rail transit facilities, and/or airports is desired. 
  • Licensed Architect in California is desired, but not required.
  • LEED Accredited Professional is desired, but not required.

Skills and Competencies

  • Working experience in Revit, AutoCAD, SketchUp, and Adobe Creative Suite. 
  • Strong understanding of structural, mechanical, plumbing, and electrical systems, and experience in coordination of engineering consultants.
  • Knowledge of codes and regulations, including ADA and Title 24 Energy Code, with experience in agency coordination.
  • Contract administration including reviewing and processing of submittals and shop drawings, and responding to RFIs.
  • Strong collaboration and effective communication skills.
  • Knowledgeable of the LEED Online documentation process is a plus.
